V-SEA 5.0m
MKII HALF CABIN
|
| The most dramatic change
to the new V-Sea is the way the entire topside has been re-styled
to make it a mini Victory. The cuddy is higher and wider, delivering
more room inside the cabin, and at the same time delivering more protection
to the helm area. All of the lines have been softened and rounded
to give the boat a sleek appearance. |
Inside the cabin the hatch has been
enlarged to improve access to ground tackle and the foredeck rope
locker. The popular internal step has been retained to assist in this
area. The rope locker itself is oversized, and in keeping with standard
Seafarer policy all hardware is first quality stainless steel and
substantial in size. A short bow sprit is included to keep anchors
and chain clear of the gel coat.
The cabin storage lockers now feature quality cushions produced in
the Seafarer factory, and wide side shelves and back rests are also
padded in matching material. For those who wish to have their radios
in the most protected part of the boat, it is possible to flush-mount
them in the starboard shelf. |

The helm console is now
a duplicate of the brilliant Victory layout, which is considered to
be state of the art industry wide. It is now possible to have up to
two Lowrance electronics units flush mounted side by side in the dash
immediately behind the wheel where they are within easy reach.
A custom switch panel runs the width of the dash behind this area,
and above that is a dedicated area for the exclusive white Seafarer
gauge cluster. The flush mounted compass sits on its own pad immediately
above the gauges. Everything is right under the helmsman's eyes and
within seated reach.
As part of its dedication to quality control, Seafarer now fits the
wiring loom and switch panel in the factory.
On the passenger side there is a handy storage recess in the dash
top with a substantial stainless grab bar, and to port a large cutout
pocket for further storage of items that need to be kept at hand.
Side pockets run the full length of the cockpit; so the forward section
of the pocket is also accessible from the helm and companion seats.
Seafarer produces its own seats and these have been remodeled at the
sides to allow the helmsman to sit comfortably side-on in the seat.
This lets him keep an eye on both the helm console and the lures behind
the boat. Bucket style swivel seats have firm, contoured upholstery,
designed to support the body in rough conditions as well as the smooth
days.
Also new, is the high curved three piece windscreen with its substantial
frame and heavy duty stainless grab rail, set immediately inside the
frame where it will not obstruct forward vision. |
The cockpit is both spacious and body
friendly. Freeboard at the cockpit has been increased by 125mm in
keeping with customer requests. All surfaces are contoured where possible,
and there is plenty of thigh-height side support, as well as room
for toes under side pockets and the rear lounge when the seat is lowered.
The rear lounge has been designed to provide comfortable seating when
required, but the scat folds down flat for fishing, leaving a deep
padded bolster across the stern coaming. Good access is available
under the lounge to the bilge area below, as well as batteries, oil
bottles and the bilge pump.
Take time to observe the details. Four stainless rod holders in the
side decks, offset and recessed horn cleats, recessed stainless cockpit
grab rails. There is side pocket racking for four rods, an 80 litre
stainless steel fuel tank with deck filler, and navigation lights
are standard, as are cutting board lids on the new extra large bait
wells in the aft quarter decks. The wells have also been given curved
interiors to keep bait lively and healthy.
The standard boat is presented essentially as a hard core fishing
boat with the rear lounge giving it the ability to double as a family
or social boat when required. For those who desire a more luxurious
fitup, please refer to the accompanying list of optional extras. |
